1. 掩埋；埋藏
    To bury something means to put it into a hole in the ground and cover it up with earth.

    e.g. They make the charcoal by burying wood in the ground and then slowly burning it.

2. 埋葬；安葬
    To bury a dead person means to put their body into a grave and cover it with earth.

3. 失去（親人）
    If someone says they have buried one of their relatives, they mean that one of their relatives has died.

    e.g. He had buried his wife some two years before he retired.
           大概在他退休前兩年，他妻子去世了。

4. 掩藏；埋藏
    If you bury something under a large quantity of things, you put it there, often in order to hide it.

    e.g. She buried it under some leaves...
           她把它藏在一堆樹葉下面。
    e.g. I was looking for my handbag, which was buried under a pile of old newspapers.

5. 覆蓋；掩埋；把…埋在下面
    If something buries a place or person, it falls on top of them so that it completely covers them and often harms them in some way.

    e.g. Latest reports say that mud slides buried entire villages...
           最新報(bào)道說(shuō)泥石流掩埋了整個(gè)整個(gè)的村莊。
    e.g. Their house was buried by a landslide...
           他們的房子在一次塌方中被掩埋。

6. （因不高興而）把（頭或臉）貼（或靠）在…
    If you bury your head or face in something, you press your head or face against it, often because you are unhappy.

    e.g. He held her closely, burying his head against her shoulder.

7. 深藏；深埋
    If something buries itself somewhere, or if you bury it there, it is pushed very deeply in there.

    e.g. The missile buried itself deep in the grassy hillside...

    e.g. He stood on the sidewalk with his hands buried in the pockets of his dark overcoat.

8. 掩藏（感情）；拋開（記憶）
    If you bury a feeling, you try not to show it. If you bury a memory, you try to forget it.

    e.g. When we feel anger, we bury the emotion and feel guilty instead...

    e.g. It is time to bury our past misunderstandings.

9. 藏身于；埋頭于；專心于
    If you bury yourself in a place or in an activity such as your work, you spend all your time in that place or doing that activity, usually because you want to forget about things.

    e.g. His reaction was to withdraw, to bury himself in work.
           他的反應(yīng)是抽身而退，埋頭于工作。
    e.g. ...the popular image of writers burying themselves in the country in order to write.

10. 沉浸于；專心致志于
    If you bury your head in something such as a book or newspaper, or bury yourself in it, you look at it closely and concentrate very hard on it.

bury什么意思

    e.g. He buried himself in his detective story again.
           他又沉浸在他的偵探故事里了。
