1. 分派（工作）；布置（作業(yè)）
    If you assign a piece of work to someone, you give them the work to do.

    If someone is assigned to a particular place, group, or person, they are sent there, usually in order to work at that place or for that person.

    e.g. I was assigned to Troop A of the 10th Cavalry...

    e.g. Did you choose Russia or were you simply assigned there?...
           你是自己選擇去的俄羅斯還是就是被派到那里的？

4. 賦予，給予（功能或價(jià)值）
    If you assign a particular function or value to someone or something, you say they have it.

    e.g. Under Mr. Harel's system, each business must assign a value to each job...
           根據(jù)哈雷爾先生的體系，每個(gè)企業(yè)必須賦予每份工作一定的價(jià)值。
    e.g. Assign the letters of the alphabet their numerical values — A equals 1, B equals 2, etc.
           給字母表里的每個(gè)字母賦予相應(yīng)的數(shù)值——A等于1，B等于2，等等。
